I guess I am the old school type throwback comic. I love the joke. I do the joke. I live the joke when I'm telling it, and of course I die by the joke that doesn't work for whatever reason; usually because I've failed it somehow.

I have realism in my show and a small amount of revealing but most times it's just about being funny. I've said before my act is where stupid meets confidence. I rely on stupid being my time machine. I figure at my age I can have nearly 30 to 40 yrs difference in my era and much of the audience I'm in front of. Chances are I'm not up on the latest 20 something's tech, speak, fashion, music or movies etc etc etc...I'm just not hip to it. But the one thing I can fall back on is that stupid is timeless. Young, old and in between, what is off beat stupid is evergreen fertile soil for laughter. It's a fact and I can live with it and depend on.
Ageless common ground, this stupid.

Make certain I LOVE the new comics that can keep it raw, real and seize a lot of reality in their material, but for the most part I'm not going to do that. I will and do speak to real things but always with a lighter sense of humor.

Some comics say you have to keep your material about personal things. I agree. I take making people laugh personally and it IS a BIG part of my personality to love to force people to laugh out loud on purpose. You've heard of intellectuals? I'm an emotional-lectual, I get off on the comical ;)
That is my realistic style of the art form of stand up comedy.

Coming up I preferred the comedy of Richard Pryor, he was an artist that could straddle the line between realism and fantasy, he could be as funny as anybody about real life but also could have you rolling about things that many would say was, well...stupid.
Pryor was a true master of stand up.

I suppose what I'm saying is, don't dumb your stuff down but when it comes to comedy don't be afraid of looking, being, or sounding stupid.
You're probably on to something.

That is all depend upon the story of the comic according to that the comic characters are designed and they are created. As per the story the characters are derived and they have specific mannerism through that comic. Like you said in the blog sometimes those comic characters can be like stupid one also.
