WHO'S UP FOR A DOJO PEP TALK?

Posted on February 26, 2014 at 1:22 PM Comments comments (3)
Do you ever get discouraged in comedy? Do you get down on yourself as well as
others, feel more than a little cheated sometimes, passed over, and unappreciated?
Congrats, you're in the right business.

Think about it though, isn't it a positive to have something in your life that gives you so much
drive and makes you feel such a range of emotions??! The answer is yes without
question..

Enjoy the ride kids, art hurts sometimes. Sellouts don't feel a thing.

On the surface it may sound ridiculous but if you're pained by your art you may
just being doing something correct. Easy is paint by numbers, that's not real passion,
soul or art in any way now is it?

The positive is you can use the pain and frustration as fuel to add attitude and real
composition to your stand up work. And don't underestimate your will and drive...
...and never EVER give up.

It works out, or it doesn't....either way you're a better human being for giving it an honest effort.
It's win win.
