WORK ON YOUR CRAFT

If you're going to do stand up comedy at least do it justice.

Work on your craft. Watch stand up with a new eye towards discovery and learning. Get involved with your immediate 'scene' support it and network. Create some opportunities for yourself and others.

Work on your craft. Keep the back biting and jealousy to a minimum by not getting involved with all the little petty battles. They will waste your time, make unnecessary enemies, drain your creative energy ...and that's winning them!

Work on your craft. Let your performing do the talking for the most part. Stand up that stands out  trumpets your arrival or absence better than any social media rant or transparent stirring up of trouble and bickering.

Work on your craft. Don't blame bookers or agents or other comics. If you've been knocked down pick yourself up, reinvent yourself if necessary and come back strong with great jokes, style and a more positive attitude.

Work on your craft. And oh yeah, work on your craft.
