Want to write something today? First thing you do is forget about the formula setup/punch line or creating a bit for now. Forget about creating stand up comedy material even. Think about you and how you feel about.....things. Grab a notebook and write out some tangent lists, rant about how you feel....about stuff. Anything you want to Don't write, just feel and put the words down. The fewest possible.
Comedy is an art form about feelings, bursts of emotions, images, changes, adapting, cooperating, indulging, excesses, ...or not. See what happens.
Ask yourself, how do you feel about....
*Your life? Sum up your life in a sentence.
*Your formal education? Your life education?
*What makes you happy?
*Keep it simple, write how you feel about pop culture things. Reveal your opinions. Do you have any solutions?
*How do you feel about certain commercials, ads, promotions, anything on TV or radio. How do you feel about politics or religion etc etc??

*HOW DO YOU FEEL?????????
Write it down so you can see the words, your comedy mind's eye will begin to pick out emotional things that are ripe for laughter. It's like starting a fire with a little kindling, it smolders and then erupts. Your feelings = the heat.

Capture feelings and you'll capture funny. ;)
Feel me?
