THE WHYS OF COMEDY

Ever ask yourself why you do comedy or are interested in  developing it within yourself? It helps to know.

For me questions can be the most powerful thing in the universe. Where would humans be right now without our ability to question things? I believe sometimes I'd be more confident if the Bible started with a question. I don't even know if that makes sense but it does to me...in a twisted sorta philosophical funny way.

Want to begin to write? Ask yourself questions. Especially the question why. It's perfectly ok to question your habits, your quirks, your plans etc. Become childlike, ask yourself WHY constantly. Go in deep, no fear, never quit!. You will discover vast amounts of potentially funny thoughts and images in the question why. Why do people do the things they do?! Why do YOU do the things you do?!  All of this of course leads to a LOT of soul searching, speculation and motive introspection that will help immensely in beginning to know yourself and your world...funny and otherwise. Both needed in an art form, especially comedy. Why you may ask?! -That's a great place to begin. ;)
